How to remove the red 1 from Settings for Apple Pay on iPhone?

I don't use or want to use Apple Pay on my iPhone. However, Settings has a red 1 because I have not set up Apple Pay. How can I get rid of the red 1?

I think I figured this out. I tapped on Apple Pay and then selected Later. That seems to have got rid of the red 1.
