Abm - Google workspace federation

Hi, I am getting cannot turn on google workspace sync now when i try to connect in directory sync. Couple of articles says that i need to turn on federation by editing domain, but i couldn't find that option. attached screenshots for reference. FYI, i am doing BYOD POC with google workspace.

However when trying to turn on Google Workspace Sync there is an error that says "Cannot enable Google Workspace Sync now. You must federate a domain to enable Google Workspace Sync." Will already existing users be able to log in to apple services (for example, apple id / app store connect / Testflight) after switching federation from AzureAD to Google Workspace with an existing Okta password?
