Audiobook no longer chapterized on iPhone

I had purchased an audiobook and when I loaded it onto my iPhone, it was not chapterized, even though it is chapterized on my computer.

Just three long tracks undivided.

After sometime, I loaded it up to listen to it, and noticed that the first two tracks had divided into their constituent chapters, but the third track was still undivided.

I pulled it off my phone and reloaded it, and now it’s back to just three long tracks, all undivided into their respective chapters.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help is appreciated.

Where was the purchase from originally - and how was it loaded onto the iPhone?

Reason I ask is - since iOS 18.4, I have had to use iMazing for the manual transfer of audiobooks (.m4b) to iPhone. I don't sync, have too much media on my device to sync audiobooks the normal way - and transferring via Finder will cause these audiobooks to lose their cover art on the iPhone. Through iMazing, I've found that the transferred file becomes one long undivided track in Books for iOS. The same file appears in Books for macOS fine, retaining its chapter divisions from the file metadata.

(on a side note, the team at iMazing was made aware of my findings, and hopefully will be addressing this in their next update)

Audiobooks purchased through Apple's bookstore and downloaded straight to iPhone through the Books app seem unaffected by this - it seems to be from audiobook files from other sources and while the device is on iOS 18.4+. (this behavior wasn't present in iOS 18.3.x)
