Why is Pages app using so much memory on iMac?

Pages version 13.1 app for iMac running Monterey 12.7.6 seems to suck up all of the memory of the computer and makes it very difficult to run Pages and other apps properly. Is there a way to reinstall or upgrade?

hi professor, you can go to the Application folder and find Pages.app, then command-delete it, (macOS might ask for persmission), then it will be moved to bin.

then go to app store and redownload Pages.

That being said, I’m using Pages 14.4 on macOS 15.5, and Pages is still taking more memories than Final Cut Pro, which i think is abnormal. (in comparison, notes is less than 1G).

assuming there might be more bug fixes needed for Pages in the future.
