I have tried clearing storage and deleting unnecessary files. My computer is updated. This is has been going on for a few weeks now. I have a MacBook Air 2017. I know it’s not WiFi or anything like that because it used to work until a few weeks ago.

Are these videos dependent on data coming off the internet? If they are not, and you disconnect the computer from the internet, does the lag persist? The biggest lag for computers is the chatter of data going on and off the computer. As long as you have at least 15% of your storage free, and you are not connected to the internet, lag may be due to aging of hardware, or background tasks that are not essential that have not been removed.
