Why Does My MacBook's Caps Lock Key Need a Slow Press to Work?

I just got my first MacBook, and the Caps Lock key only works if I press it slowly—quick taps don’t register. At first, I thought it was a hardware issue, so I remapped the Globe (🌐) key to toggle uppercase, but the problem remained.

I then adjusted Key Repeat Rate (fastest) and Delay Until Repeat (shortest), but no luck. Testing another MacBook showed the same behavior—so it’s clearly a software design choice, not a defect.

Why is this happening, and is there a way to fix this?? As a fast typist this is very frustrating.

I have also recorded a short video and uploaded it to YouTube at: caps lock click video. thanks
