So, I've been reading and searching that Apple Community doesn't have a self-serving way to update or request changing Community usernames. I'd need to post asking a question for someone to see to upvote for a Host? to help with changing my Community username... wow, it's 2025 and there so many social places allow for usernames to be easily updated or at least requested to get changed.
I was here when that policy was put in place. The reason was name-shifting scammers who were spamming the forums and flaming others faster than the mods could delete them. We lost some superb contributors as a result. The current method effective stopped that.
Once again, inappropriate actions by a handful of self-serving jerks cost you a freedom.

And to be honest, many less formal, everyone does what they want online chat rooms implement the same restriction for the same reason. So there really is no reason this site shouldn’t do the same, being a quite formal site in nature.
