Note that a card reader will not show up as a drive.

If you insert a memory card that is formatted using a filesystem that the Mac understands, that will show up as a drive. Even fhen, if you want to see an icon on the Desktop or a sidebar item in Finder windows, you may need to adjust your Finder Settings.

Sorry, but that is really not a lot of information to go on in order to assist you with a solution.

What we know is the following from your post:

  • You have a MacBook Pro (MBP), running macOS Ventura 13.7. Which exact model is your MBP?
  • You have an older eSupport Card Reader. Can you provide us with a link so we can see exactly what you have?
  • You have this reader connected to one of your Mac's USB ports.

What we don't know:

  • The actual make & model of this reader.
  • If you have used this reader with this Mac before successfully.
  • What exact type of storage media that you are tryihg to access with this reader.
  • If you are seeing any error messages.
  • What you have tried, so far yourself, to resolve this.

What do you mean by "not opening folder" exactly?

What folder?

Does the card show up in Finder?

Are you having a specific issue, opening a a specific folder on the card?

Do you see the card in Disk Utility?

You need to explain and provide details about your issue before anyone here can even begin to advise.
