macmini M2 and M4 compatible displays

Hi everyone - I am not tech savvy, so please bear with me! Would anyone know if the M2 and M4 are compatible with the the Apple LED Cinema Display? This is currently connected to my mac mini 2012. I'm thinking of upgrading but not sure if the display will need upgrading also as the the cables are integrated. While it connects to the Mac mini 2012, it may not connect to the M2 and M4 if the ports are different. Its not something I can verify without taking the display to the shop. Your comments, advice and suggestions are all welcome. Thanks.
