Verification fail on ipad 2 after password reset? Cannot sign back in

I have an iPhone 14 and MacBook pro, with an iPad 2. In February I reset my Apple password, this logged me out of the iPad 2 which I still use to store old pictures and apps.

I have failed in every attempt to sign back into the iPad, receiving a 'verification failed' message both in settings and iTunes store. I have tried the old and new passwords, same error. I have changed the clock to automatic in date and time. I have connected the iPad to iTunes via the Mac and it displays just as iPad without option to do anything. Airdrop shows as iPad and does not work whereas before the password reset, I could send pictures with the iPad showing on my other devices under its name I saved it under. The iPad no longer shows as a trusted device but in the apple support, the serial number is recognised.

I have turned off & on, tried the password umpteen times and every response is 'Verification failed'. How do I sign back in? I do not want to reset and I have stuff saved on there for over a decade.

Very frustrating I’ve been doing the same thing for seven months but then I’ve been hacked into for seven months and I know who’s doing it tomorrow. The police department for that man I cannot take another day of what he’s done to me with seven phone number changes each time a Google voice number has been attached to. He stole my HEIC contact cards out of my phone. He synced his phone to my phone without my knowledge through a cheap old android he had a cheap old android I had yeah police tomorrow and then Apple store. I wasn’t able to even speak to my own mother who is 90 years old for a whole week because both of us have been blocked. I go to my carrier app T-Mobile and my old phone number is still there and it won’t take my password because I’ve changed the phone number nine times I’ve lost count

What’s worse is he’s gotten away with it for seven months and now my mental health and physical health is suffering. No one seems to be able to help online. I don’t even know if I’m really talking to Apple when I talk to them yeah it’s not funny. I’ve got an ulcer from it. I hope the police catch him.
