Verification fail on ipad 2 after password reset? Cannot sign back in
I have an iPhone 14 and MacBook pro, with an iPad 2. In February I reset my Apple password, this logged me out of the iPad 2 which I still use to store old pictures and apps.
I have failed in every attempt to sign back into the iPad, receiving a 'verification failed' message both in settings and iTunes store. I have tried the old and new passwords, same error. I have changed the clock to automatic in date and time. I have connected the iPad to iTunes via the Mac and it displays just as iPad without option to do anything. Airdrop shows as iPad and does not work whereas before the password reset, I could send pictures with the iPad showing on my other devices under its name I saved it under. The iPad no longer shows as a trusted device but in the apple support, the serial number is recognised.
I have turned off & on, tried the password umpteen times and every response is 'Verification failed'. How do I sign back in? I do not want to reset and I have stuff saved on there for over a decade.
