"I just got a new iphone 16. When trying to sync with icloud, it tells me I need to "delete" my current icloud. When I tell the phone to 'delete"'my current icloud data, the phone insists I set up a 6 digit code for my phone. I don't want a 6 digit code for my phone. Will this code be just for the icloud back up? I cannot find information about this anywhere."

This code you are asking about is official called the 'passcode'. It is used to get into your iPhone; it has no directly play to iCloud. Once you turn this feature on, it cannot be turned off. You are not required to have one as an iPhone user. So, you'll be fine without it, if you don't want privacy, and are not concerned for accessing your device.

II. iPhone Storage and Updating:

"When I bought the phone at Verizon, I was told I didn't need to set up this phone. I cannot update my new phone, because I cannot clear this message and am being told I do not have enough storage. I have plenty of storage, I buy extra. When I type this problem into the computer, every answer I get refers to older model phones and does not apply to newer iphone 16's. Very frustrating."

A. About iPhone Storage:

B. Updating an iPhone 16:
