Stuck in some kind of mode or boot-looping (iPod touch 4)

When I tried to turn on the device it told me to plug in iTunes, so I did that there it told me that I need to restore it, but when I tried it gave me an error. When I tried to get OUT of recovery mode it started boot-looping and it would go back into telling me to plug in iTunes. How can I fix this??
