How to add a row without duplicating images in Numbers app?

If I have images in a row and then insert a new row, the new row duplicates the adjacent row's images. That's so bizarre and very different from Excel. (At the start, images had been dragged and dropped into a cell rather than imported via a library, if that makes any difference). Thanks

That image "in the cell" actually in the cell's background.

You can "remove" the image by going to Format > Cell and changing Fill to from 'Image Fill' to 'No Fill'.

Numbers is trying to be helpful by guessing what you want. This behavior may be helpful in some situations, but you can give feedback to Apple via Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in the menu.

It may not be a great idea to bring a lot of images into a Numbers. They can cause bloat in the size of the document.
