Pulling greyed out iTunes songs to new device

Hello! My parents sang in a group that once used old tapes to play their songs. Once technology advanced, they managed to burn all of their songs to iTunes and play them on an iPad 2 (WiFi). Now that technology has advanced even farther, their iPad 2 is dying, and they’ve upgraded to new iPads, but since they haven’t been able to figure out how to sync their iTunes library to their iPads (which have Apple Music), they can only play their old songs on the old iPad, which, again, is quickly dying. I have been tasked with trying to figure out how to, if possible, get these songs uploaded from iTunes to either their new iPads, or a computer. Is there a way to do this?

my major roadblock is being unable to play certain songs, which are greyed out, even though recently, they were playable. iTunes doesn’t even recognize them anymore.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
