I have lost the ability to alphabetize my 24 inch IMAC. I talked with Applecare and they said it must be something with the program which they have no control over. On my laptop the program works fine so it has to be something on this IMAC that got turned off. Can anyone help?

What program/application you are using....?
What type of files are you trying to alphabetize....?
This is on an 24 inch IMAC with Sonoma 15.4. I bought it in May 2023. I have a MacBook air, also and the program works fine so it has to be the IMAC. When I have lists of clients, all the clients are there but the ability to put them in alphabetical order is not working. When I talked with Applecare the young woman was very nice but she asked questions to someone else off air, which I was not a part of. She came back and said that was not an apple problem so she could not help me. It use to be that if the person that received the call couldn't answer, they had an advanced person to turn to and they could answer the question. Has Apple done away with the additional help?
It is still unclear what program you are using to alphabetize your clients. Apple does not provide assistance with third party apps, so if that is the case it would make perfect sense. The problem you are experiencing is likely with a setting on the app you are using and nothing to do with your computer.
What "program" are you talking about?
