Logic Pro X playback stutter on brand new Mac Studio M4 - Sequoia 15.4.1

I'm having playback stuttering in Logic Pro on a new Mac Studio I've just set up. I didn't have this problem on my 2019 iMac I upgraded from.

The playback will stutter or restart if I have the cycle bar on and sometimes stutter at restart. Someone posted a solution about MIDI inputs and I've turned those off as I'm not using any external MIDI device, just a USB recording interface for input and sound output, so this didn't make any difference to the problem. I've spent a lot of money here and I'm already wishing I hadn't bothered!

It will not play through an entire song without stuttering which is useless if I'm recording.

Advice please. This is ridiculous.

Using the migration assistant might be ok for transferring documents or even Logic projects. But it's highly recommended to do a fresh install of the computer to avoid transferring incompatible parts, which can cause strange and long-lasting issues.

Make sure everything is updated and compatible.

Remember the advice: LOW when recording, HIGH when mixing

use a small buffer size during recording to avoid noticeable delay (latency), allowing for responsive monitoring. When listening back, a larger buffer size (such as 512 or 1024) frees up processing power for smoother playback and plugin performance.

You can find the Mic Mode either in the control center of your Mac or in the top bar menu displayed by an orange mic icon, when a Logic window is active. It has to be set to Standard.

And have you tried selecting the built-in speakers as an audio device in Logic? Is it still stuttering?

I used Migration Assistant. I'm not using any 3rd party plugins by the way.

There's a possibility that my Behringer Xenyx Q802USB that I use as a recording interface and output might be the problem. I can't find any software/firmware update on Behringer's website.

But you're playing the track when you're recording. If I can't even get it to play without stuttering how am I going to record? I was neither recording nor mixing. I was just listening to recorded guitar tracks to see if they were good enough. I'd just called the file up for the first time after transferring everything to the Mac Studio.

I don't seem to have this Mic Mode. I don't get the icon in the Menu Bar nor any controls in Control Centre. Do I need to turn on Accessibility for this?

As for the other issue, as I've mentioned elsewhere in the thread, I did try once with the Studio Display Speakers enabled instead, and it was ok but I may have got lucky. I've put in a support request to Behringer, but oddly since I've tweaked and turned things on and off and restarted a couple of times, the problem seems to have stopped, cross fingers. Will be worth resolving any settings that might cause future problems though.
