Safari tab icons missing after update

After updating to the latest version 15.4.1 (24E263), tab icons in Safari stopped showing. If you open more than a few tabs, now it's just a gray bar without any visible divisions. (see 1,2)

This happened right after rebooting the system after the update.

How can I return the previous display of tabs?

How do I fix Safari not showing all my tabs on MacBook Air with macOS Sequoia 15.4? I just updated my MacBook Air (15 inch, M2, 2023) to macOS Sequoia 15.4 (24E248). I have Safari 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10) running on my system. After the update, some of the tabs aren't visible in the Safari window (see the screenshot below). The ones visible on the left are pinned tabs, and the ones on the right are unpinned tabs. But I can see that there are unpinned tabs in the empty space when I hover the mouse pointer on them. Indeed, when I click on a tab in the empty space, I can then see the tab at the top (see the other screenshot below). I have 71 tabs open at the moment. I tried quitting Safari and reopening it, but that didn't help. I could try restarting but since my system already rebooted after the software update, I don't see how that will help. Can you please help me make the tabs visible again? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Missing Developer Tab on Safari (although enabled in settings) Just yesterday my Developer tab was displayed in my v18.3.1 Safari Browser menu. Today, it is gone. I verified that the feature is still enabled in the browser Advanced settings (Show features for web developers is checked). I'm running the latest release of OS: 15.3.2 (24D81). Anyone else noticing this?

I am seeing this issue today too. I did not see it yesterday before the latest update.

I don't think it is a setting. The tabs are still there and open. This is pretty clearly a bug in the tab bar on the latest version of safari that you will only see if you have lots of tabs open - and possibly only if you *also* have a bunch of pinned tabs.

It may be a setting that deletes old unused tabs.
