Get horizontal scroll bar in Numbers on Mac Sequoia 15.4.1

Hello Community,

I’m new to Mac and I’m using my MacBook with Sequoia 15.4.1. I’ve noticed that the Numbers app doesn’t have a horizontal scroll bar when I create a new file. I’ve searched the community and online, but none of the solutions, such as “Show scroll bar” in System Preferences, are available. I can’t find any option to enable the horizontal scroll bar in either the system settings or the Numbers app settings. Could anyone please advise on how to fix this issue?

The locations of a lot of the system settings changed dramatically in MacOS 14. Most posts, if they are not fairly recent or don't specify the OS version, will point you to where they used to be in previous OS versions.

In MacOS 15, System Settings->Appearance has setting for scroll bars. Options are:

  • Automatically based on mouse or trackpad: Scroll bars are shown depending on the mouse or trackpad you’re using. If your device allows gestures, scroll bars are hidden until you start scrolling. Otherwise, they’re visible.
  • When scrolling: Hide scroll bars until you start scrolling.
  • Always: Scroll bars are always shown.

I set mine to always.

Or are you saying you've looked at the System Preferences->Appearance settings and the scroll bar settings are not there?
