manually create MIDI cc messages in MIDI track

How can I manually create MIDI CC messages in a MIDI track? I want the track to play and send various CC messages to control external MIDI devices, not musical instruments. I cannot find a MIDI editor in Logic to create the CC (or PC) messges. Thanks

inputting chord track from a midi region Has anyone figured out if there is a way to automatically input chord track progressions from a midi region with block chords. I know by setting internal midi in to a track and playing it back with midi in selected on the chord editor you can partially automate this but you have to keep hitting tab to advance to the next chord otherwise it just overwrites the current one. this is both time consuming and prone to error. Ideally (if you are listening, Apple) you could just play the midi region and it would place the chords automatically.

Sending PC and CC from MainStage to control external MIDI Hi. I'm considering Mainstage for my live shows, as I can see the "backing track" mode. The main point is that I also need my playback machine to send out PC info to an external MIDI device (lights, guitar effects changes, etc). I have a MIDI track in my DAW for that, however, using the DAW as a playback machine for the show is not the best option. As far as I can understand by watching tutorials, Mainstage can send a PC or CC message at the beginning of the patch's playback, not a sequence of PCs/CCs during the song itself, correct?

Export to MIDI After all these years, garage band editor won't offer an option to export songs with only MIDI as .mid... Why not? It's a powerful editing tool, but one cannot transfer their work to an external keyboard for performance. I've seen the 22 step process to trick it into saving one track at a time, and it's ridiculous. I can understand if I use audio loops, that they won't convert to MIDI, but if I'm using MIDI loops... THEY'RE MIDI! Please give us a "save as" option for MIDIfiles.

H there,

To do this, you must enter "Region Automation" (as opposed to "Track Automation"). Once you do that, the automation parameter window will show you all Midi CC. Hope this helps!
