How can I retrieve Apple Pay transaction history for a deactivated card?

Looking at old posts, found the same subject ... but mostly asked by those that have removed the card from the wallet and were trying to recover the history for the removed card.

In my case, my card started being charged for unauthorized purchases, and action was taken to cancel the card following immediate contact with the bank.

The card is still in the wallet, now labelled as "This card cannot be used", and the history of purchases is not available.

So, how to retrieve the transaction history for this card?

Of course, this to prove that the fraudulent charges were not generated from my own digital wallet.

All Apple Pay transactions are encrypted and Apple does not have the key. The information you saw about transaction was shared to your Wallet by the bank. All Apple has is encrypted data. Any information about the closed account will have to come from the bank. Please contact the banks fraud department and request information about the transactions.

The bank and local law enforcement can request information from Apple about the transactions.

I am sorry to say, but this is the opposite of what Apple advertises.

Meaning, all transactions are secure until they are not, and the end user is left hanging between the merchant and the bank. Both saying that the transaction was secure through Apple Pay, the iPhone with Apple Pay has all security features and gates recommended by Apple, the phone has never left the owner's hand and it was not activated for the transactions.

Now, for taking a simple look at the transactions that should be (or not) in the wallet, no they are scrapped, the user has to be juggling between the bank, merchant and local police.

Note, if I did not have apple pay or if I was able to prove that the transaction did not come from my wallet, the whole discussion would straight back to the bank and the police ... but now I have to prove first that I was not "careless", right? I see other comments in the forum in the same context, so perhaps something to be considered for future upgrades ... why are the transactions erased from the wallet if the card is cancelled but not removed from the wallet ?

The bank removes the history when they block or deactivate your account/card. The key to decrypt the data the bank sent (transaction data) is stored on your iPhone in the Secure Enclave. Apple cannot access the key.

I can’t tell you what you have to prove. The bank sets the burden of proof, not Apple.

Was the fraudulent transaction(s) online or at the merchant’s location? The bank needs to compare the last 4 digits of the transaction to the last 4 digits of the DPAN (Device Primary Account Number). The DPAN is unique to each digital device the card is added to. So if scammers added a card to their iPhone, there would be a different DPAN from your device’s DPAN.
