Microphone is set by default to Microsoft Teams Audio and the mic does not take my voice.

Dear Community,

While receiving FaceTime or any other call, the participants are unable to hear me. After checking the microphone settings, I discovered that it is set to Microsoft Teams Audio. However, I do not have Microsoft Teams installed. To resolve this issue, I installed and deleted Teams, but the problem persists. I have searched the microphone permission list and cannot locate Teams there as well.

Kindly assist me in resolving this technical issue, which has been causing me significant inconvenience for over two weeks.

Regards,

Alexander

I have the same Microsoft Teams Audio issue. I am able to select another audio source, but the issue is that every time I join a FaceTime call, the input device defaults to Microsoft Teams Audio which doesn't seem to be relaying any sound. There is no way to make the default device the built in mic, atleast that I have found and I cant seem to delete Microsoft Teams Audio.

Unfortunately, the "minus" button is unselectable. System Settings > Sound etc show Mac as the default mic input, but also shows MS Teams as default (again, no option to remove). All this after I have trashed every sign of MS Teams I can find on my computer. This is clearly a broad issue, can we get some support?

I have been having the same issue. Once the FaceTime call is underway, and I realize my people can't hear me, I have changed the FaceTime microphone from Microsoft Teams Audio to MacBook Pro Microphone, and that worked but always reverted the next time.

I decided to change it to Use System Setting instead and so far that has been a durable change. Here's hoping it sticks.

Hi,

I had the same issue! I input my issue into chatGPT and everytime it told me to input a code into Terminal, I copy pasted the response command and it helped me figure out what the issue was. I suggest turning to chatGPT for this issue.
