Perhaps if some clues as to which device, product and/or its
associated operating system were in use, then someone may
venture a guess. I've not used GarageBand in maybe 15+ yrs
and then only with Mac OS X or early Intel-based Mac OS.
REPORT via Apple Feedback Site Forms Please!
While an iOS version at one point, was rumored to exist; that
never crossed paths in my travels. I'd suggest an idea to at
least tell Apple about your experience, with Apple Feedback.
Product Feedback - Apple
//www.apple.com/feedback/
Maybe least let someone at Apple directly know what you've
found; with specific details about your Apple build products.
Because to report an issue or an unusual finding officially to
Apple requires attention to detail, please refer to your product
and its hardware build year association; what it is, and what it
runs in exactly. This may require two reports, one for Hardware
and another for its Software. That way, someone may find the
association: between these. Like two cross-hairs, on a target.

Feedback - GarageBand for iOS and iPadOS - Apple
Feedback - GarageBand - Apple (combines two fields)
As the Hardware (macbook air, iMac, etc; iPad, iPhone) may
contribute to narrow the field of software issue; to some part.
1] Feedback - macOS - Apple 2] any other hardware + OS.
Forms within these topic areas may allow for more choices.
May also include 'non-Apple hardware' where those exist.
