your tagline says you are currently running 12.7 Monterey. If that is correct,

Settings > software update ...

... should offer you the latest, MacOS 15 Sequoia. If that is NOT what you want, you can get a different version through the links in this article:

You could do what that message suggests and try the install again.

You could restart your Mac into Safe Mode, which does not load most third-party software, and try the install in Safe Mode. This reduces the chances that some Third-party add-ons are interfering with the install.

You could choose a different version, such a MacOS 13 Ventura, and download it instead -- using the links in the article I posted earlier.
