How to get the full video clip in imovie?
When inserting a short video clip to prevent first photo from being stuck while creating iMovie, the video is cut short.
iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18

Except for Edit, I do not have the timeline selection option. I forgot to mention the video cut off problem is with creating video clips using iMovie's Magic Movie. Creating video clips using the Storyboard or Movie option is too complicated for me so iMovie is great for my purposes and ability. I very much appreciate your responses, though. Thank you!
O.K. With Magic Movie there are very limited editing options. The app makes most of the editing decisions to simplify for the user. There is no timeline like there is in the regular iMovie, and I don't see any way of varying the length of a clip. In your case the clip may be less than the full clip due to an editing decision by Magic Movie. Try creating a regular iMovie project and inserting your clip into it. See if the full clip comes in.

Hi,
iMovie does not cut off or truncate imported media. Try selecting the clip and dragging out its right edge and see if that gives you the full clip.

"Try selecting the clip..."
Should I select the clip from the "Edit" screen?
Thank you!
Select it in the timeline,
