I use Quick Filter on a column and type in a search word and the list in the dropdown filters but the table itself is not filtering. The table is not hiding all the unselected rows.
Any help appreciated.

What I see in your screenshot is you searched for rows that contain "ro", which is showing you "rocket". Searching for a term does not create a filter. You need to uncheck all the terms that are not "rocket". Get rid of the search for "ro" so you can see all the items. Uncheck the ones you want hidden or use deselect all to uncheck them all then put a check next to Rocket. If your real data has a lot of different matches for "ro", after deselecting all items do the search for "ro" and use 'select all' to select all the "ro" matches.
I am expecting Col A to be filtered to just show Rocket.
