Can’t select text within textbox with powerpoint on iPadOS18

When selecting text within the textbox of powerpoint on iPadOS, click and drag the mouse or trackpad only moves the cursor around instead of select the words. Double clicking to select the word and tripple clicking to select the paragraph are both working.

Anyone has any idea on how to fix this?
