Unable to cancel Nebula app subscription on App Store

Opened the "Nebula - horoscope astrology app" to cancel a subscription. There’s a button called "my plan". It doesn’t work. Just spins. Tried it five times over a few days, nothing ever loads. No option to cancel anywhere else in the app. Looked in settings, account, FAQ, nothing.

I sent a message to support. Got no reply.

Also, the reading I paid for was supposed to be based on palm lines. I used it on two different accounts, entering completely different info. The result was exactly the same in both cases. Every sentence, every paragraph. So now: can’t cancel, can’t contact support, and the content looks copy-pasted. Not sure what I paid for, but I can’t stop it or even see what the charge is for.

I was advised to write a Nebula review so that you could give me some advice or spread my problem. In general, this needs attention.

That’s all

Try this to cancel your web subscription for Nebula:

https://appnebula.co/cancel-subscription

More information about their subscriptions is available here:

https://appnebula.co/tech/subscription-terms

Here is there money back policy:

https://appnebula.co/tech/money-back-policy

You can also report the app to Apple:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, then sign in to your Apple Account.
  2. Click “I’d like to,” then choose an option from the pop-up menu that makes the most sense for your complaint.

The subscription is a website subscription, so it is not managed by Apple to cancel easily with their method. Most people get referred to that website from a Social Media post or website advertisement and they were paid to get you to follow the link. When you choose the "free reading", or even the $1 reading, it signs you up for a free trial and you sill be charged for the subscription. At that point you are directed to download the app, but the subscription has already been started and will continue whether you download the app or not. Disputing a charge with you bank is a possibility.

My sister was caught in the same way, about six months ago. So I can only sympathise with you (she still hasn't solved this problem)

In some cases without a resolution by Nebula, disputing the charge along with blocking future ones with the bank of the issuing card is the only way.

I want so much to protect my children from this problem, because they can fall for it very easily... Can anyone tell me if there are similar sites where the same thing could happen? I'll show them so they avoid them

Unfortunately the solution is to be skeptical of everything you see on the internet. We like to believe that everyone has good intentions, but that simply is not the case. Social Media is full of scams and false information and kids gravitate to these platforms that make them susceptible. Some posters are paid to include links to these type of websites along with a review of how great they are and people are easily manipulated. The companies that manage these platforms do very little to police them in the name of "free speech", and do not take any responsibility for what is posted.

Sorry for being such a downer, but teaching a child to not be gullible is not bad thing either and may help them with future life experiences as well. The internet does offer good things too, and there is a skill in how it is used that can be a great benefit.

Besides Mac Jim's good advice, you can encourage your children to read the reviews, then also do a google search to see what people are saying about a game/product/service. Someone in one of these Nebula threads mentioned that the reviews in the add for the app were great. But when they searched online, they learned otherwise. It's not being skeptical. It's being careful.
