Final Cut Camera zoom issue on iPhone 14 Pro Max

I've tried using Final Cut Camera on my iPhone 14 Pro Max to get around the issues of the phone jumping between cameras when I'm trying to shoot video.

In FCC I can select the appropriate camera, but when I zoom (using the zoom slider or pinch-zoom) the preview stops at around 2.3x whilst the zoom indicator continues to increase all the way to 10x. Even though the preview stops at 2.3x, the phone continues to record at the full zoom (records one thing and shows me a different zoom/crop.

If I turn off image stabilization, the zoom works as expected but has issues again as soon as stabilization is enabled.
