How can I figure out how to attach, not embed, a photo in email using Mail?

Hello All,

Mac can be frustrating at times. Can anyone help me figure out how to attach, not embed, a photo an email using Mail?

I tried everything that I could find in old community posts:

  • Checked "Send Windows-friendly attachment"
  • View as icon - Full image still shows in the body of the email by recipient / The system response was "Could not write domain /Users/[nameOfmyMac]/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail; exiting"
  • Terminal: typed: defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
  • Drag-dropped

Any other ideas?

Thank you!

Julian
