Unable to Create New Apple Developer Account – Phone Number Verification Error
I’m trying to create a new Apple Developer account using my company domain email (e.g., name@company.com) via Apple Developer, but I keep running into an issue during the phone number verification step.
🧭 Steps I Followed:
- I enter my personal and company details to start account creation.
- I receive and successfully verify the email verification code.
- I proceed to the next screen where I’m asked to enter the code sent to my mobile number.
- No SMS is received, and after a short while I get the following error message:
"Verification codes cannot be sent to this phone number at this time. Please try again later."
📌 Additional Details:
- This issue has persisted for several months.
- I’ve tried multiple valid mobile numbers, including my own and others, but the error persists every time.
- My team lead tried to add me to our organization’s Apple Developer Program using an invitation to the same company email, but I couldn’t accept the invite because creating an Apple ID always fails at this step.
- I do have an existing Apple ID (basic/free tier) using my personal email address that works fine for personal development.
❓ What I Need Help With:
- Why is the phone number verification failing repeatedly?
- Is there a limitation on creating multiple Apple IDs tied to similar phone numbers?
- Is the issue because im trying to create two apple ids on same macbook because i have my personal apple id logged in the macbook and im trying to create a second one on the same macbook system
- How can I successfully create a new Apple ID with my company email to join our team’s developer account?
I’ve attached a screenshot of the error screen as well. Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated!
