iPhone 7 cannot be updated to iOS 17, or let alone 16. It no longer receives the latest iOS updates and iOS 15.8.4 is the end of the road. It should be time to start looking into purchasing a newer iPhone that can run a newer iOS.

An iPhone 7 cannot update past iOS 15. If you need a newer version, you will need a newer phone.

iOS 17 is no longer available, but even it was, it would not run on an iPhone 7.

You will need an iPhone XR or higher model to download and install iOS 18.
