When your iPhone puts charging on hold at 80% due to heat, that is absolutely normal, and is in fact good. That's because your iPhone with Optimized Battery Charging charges relatively quick to 80%, which can cause some heat, then slow down till 100% to wait until you need to use it. As such charging will also be on hold until the iPhone's temperature cools down to help battery longevity as heat is not good for the battery.

📱Facing iPhone heating issues? Here's what worked for me on my iPhone 12 Pro:

1️⃣ Backup on iCloud/iTunes

2️⃣ Log out of Apple ID

3️⃣ Erase (Keep eSIM Data)

❌ DO NOT restore from backups! Set up as new iPhone. Wait 2-3 days - no issue! That Indicates...

✅ No hardware/ iOS issue

Now...

📦 Restore data gradually

🔍 Find app/settings causing heat
