How do I fix "Card already exists" error in Apple Wallet?

I came across a lot of questions and answers about the issue when trying to add a card back into your apple wallet and receiving the message "card already exists" .

The simple solution is that if you also added it to your apple watch, or potentially another device, you need to remove it from each one separately even though they are deactivated when you remove them from your iPhone.
