Update: about 3 days later, abnormal battery drain has stopped.

Here is what I have tried:

  1. Day 1, turn off Siri for all the apps - did not seem make any difference
  2. Day 1, Turned on low power mode and airplane mode - did not seem make any difference
  3. Day 2, power off the phone for 1 night
  4. Day 3, deleted couple unused apps
  5. Day 3, get in Photo app, quickly scroll and view all photos, b/c I read some article stated iOS may re-index data after upgrades, and I have 500GB data, mostly photo and videos, I want to see if there is any lagging while scrolling through them, but nothing.
  6. After 4 & 5, battery draining seems stopped.

Hope anyone experience the same get your phone back to normal as well, and ASAP.

You should be charging overnight, every night. If you do, and the phone does not need to be charged until the next night, then it is working as designed.

There is never a time when any smartphone is doing nothing, so it uses energy 24/7. If you charge overnight the nighttime usage will come from the power source rather than the battery, which will extend the useful life of the battery.
