Your question is asked frequently and the answer is ALWAYS the same, do you need or want portability? If you do then get the laptop, if you don't get the desktop. It's that simple!
Mmmm, it’s not really that simple. The screen is nice. More ram could compensate for a slightly slower processor. Don’t need a ton of portability. Removing portability and screen—trying to determine if they are generally comparable machines performance wise. And the mini is quite portable. And I can get the MBP for slightly less than the Mini. The additional Ram is the biggest point of contention.

Yes it is that simple, you can over complicate it however it as simple as wanting or needing portability.

Puts me at 2k. Both models I mentioned I can get for 1250
I don’t have time to read 35k user tips per year. Or respond to 10 people a day for 18 years. There are a lot more factors as to whether I want portability or not.
