Remove these from your Account:

If you are certain you'll never get these back, then remove them from your account.

A. About AirPods and Find My:

If Find My was enabled with these, then note that the local shown is based off of the last time the device they were connected to that itself was connected to the internet. This is because AirPods are not assigned their own IP Address. So, that makes this a privacy concern, being that someone a trace your down, based on your location.

B. Remove AirPods from your Apple Account on iPhone or iPad

1. Open: Find My app.
2. Select: Devices tab
3. Tap: your AirPods
4. Swipe: up
5. Tap: Remove This Device
6. Tap: Remove button

C. Remove AirPods from your Apple Account on Mac:

1. Open: Find My app
2. Select: the Devices tab
3. Select: your AirPod.
4. Go to: the map
5. Click: the More Info button
6. Click: Remove This Device

You can’t block AirPods in any way, shape or form.

The serial number is only useful for identifying that the AirPods belong to you after they are found.

Putting them into lost mode doesn’t keep anyone from using them.

You can do that yourself by going into the Find My app and turning on Lost Mode.
