Calendar app on my iPhone 13 mini skips to the nearest day when scrolling down

When I open the Calendar app on my iPhone 13 mini, I scroll down to check appointments, often to see the last of one day and the next of another, but the app constantly jumps to the top of the nearest day. Some days I might have lots of appointments so I can’t scroll down the day smoothly because as soon as I let go, it snaps back to the top of the day.

this is very frustrating!

it doesn’t happen all the time and it will stop after a short while but any way of turning off this “helpful feature” would be even more helpful!
