Windows Server on Boot Camp
Has anyone managed to install Windows Server (any version from 2016 onwards) using Boot Camp? When running the Boot Camp assistant it will reject the ISO if it's a server one, so it's clearly looking at something on there to determine this, and it may be possible to edit this so that it reports as W10 - anyone know where on the ISO it's looking for the version details?
Windows Server and its installer are very similar to the client version in terms of the layout of folders and files, and use the same drivers, so I think that if the Boot Camp assistant can be persuaded that it's actually Windows 10, it is quite likely to install with no issues - and Microsoft isn't dropping support for any of the server versions equivalent to W10 any time soon.
With the difficulties around the T2 chip and secure boot on the last generation of Intel Macs, persuading Boot Camp setup to accept a server version ISO, if possible, might be the most practical way to install a version of Windows which is still supported.
Thanks
