Anyone here mix FCPX AUDIO in another DAW?

Does anyone here mix your FCPX audio in another program? I want to use real metal faders for doing complicated audio mixes from FCPX. I have read that Logic Pro can be used with a midi fader controller I already own. (EU).

So again, purpose is: For very complicated audio mixes I'd export to a DAW that can accept with a real fader control interface. Then export audio back to FCPX.

I already do the easy projects in FCPX itself with no controller. So, learn Logic Pro? Other DAW? I'm doing documentaries, not music.

Thanks!

I suggest doing some tests with your typical project. I believe you can get a 90 day trial of Logic. I have encountered issues with Logic not importing an FCPXML correctly others have reported problems here. If you haven't already, you could ask on the Logic discussion forum. I haven't tried it lately, but in the past Logic didn't respect disabled channels in a separate audio recording in multicams so it created a bazillion tracks, making it pretty much impossible to work with. As much as I'd like to recommend Logic I think you should also look at ProTools.

Thank you Terry. I was afraid of that. Always hoped Apple would make dropping all audio to Logic Pro and back a perfect, simple experience. My midi faders interface will work with Pro Tools. I'm very familiar with PT but got tired of waiting for them to get with the newest OS year after year. I'll do what you suggested and experiment with PT and Logic (not impressed with Logic for commercial production and documentary work, it seems great for Music Production which I don't need.)

Thank you for helping me.
