Google Chat photos automatically resizing

Whenever I send a picture through Google Chat, my picture is always automatically resized to square dimensions. I have not recently updated my phone, however, this was never an issue even without updating my phone until just now. Is there possibly a certain setting in Google Chat that can fix this?

Pictures taken with front camera when sending them through WhatsApp turns upside down Pictures taken with front camera when sending them through WhatsApp turns upside down with a weird banner. If taking the pictures with front camera directly from WhatsApp, it has no problem. It happens when I send the pictures those are taken from front camera of iPhone.
