Midi controller assignment - channel strip selection

I am sending a midi CC from an external device and reading it in logic to control a plugin parameter. Logic reads it fine and does what I'm looking for it to do. However, I am using the Channel Strip class and I want the action Logic takes to be on a specific Audio track, not the Selected Track. When I select Audio from the Channel Strip pop-up menu, it flips back to Selected Track. I have been able to achieve this in the past. I've tried this on another computer, with different hardware attached, and in a new project (though I realize Controller Assignment isn't project specific) and get the same result each time.

Hi,

Works fine here. Your Clist may be corrupted (happens often).

One option is to throw it away: /Users/computername/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs

Warning!: ALL Controller Assignments Will be Deleted but it should fix your issue.

An alternative would be to quit Logic Pro and to move this file to your desktop. Logic will create a new clist upon

re-opening it. From there, test out the feature and if it works well you can get rid of the old file. If it does not, you can simply restore the clist to its original folder.

Hope that helps!

Thanks a ton Eddie! I have been fighting this issue for quite some time and hadn't seen this suggested before. Hopefully this helps others that may be experiencing similar issues.

I performed the following steps:

-Note: I was on Logic 11.1 (no sub-minor patch)

-Quit Logic

-Moved preferences file to Desktop

-Reopened Logic, new Project

-Issue persisted

-Quit Logic

-Updated Logic to 11.1.2

-Reopened Logic, new Project

-Issue fixed!

I'm assuming a reboot may have also done what the update did for me, in cases where Logic is already on the latest patch. I thought about a complete uninstall/reinstall but tried the update first and glad to say it worked.
