How do I rehearse overdubs while playing back recorded tracks in Logic Pro 11.1.2?

Hi all,

A pretty simple question for you!

I am using Logic 11.1.2 to record my modular synths using an Expert Sleepers ES-9 audio interface.

One I make a recording on logic and I want to overdub with another modular track, my new track seems to be muted during playback of the recorded tracks, so I can’t rehearse it. When I press record, then it comes through the headphones again.

So how do i play the new track and audition the performance while the playback is running?
