Abnormal space occupied by Documents folder

I can't understand why in system settings (generali_spazio_macintosh HD) the disk space occupied by the documents folder is 22 GB when in reality if I go to see in details (large files, downloads, unsupported apps, file browser) in total they do not exceed 200 MB.

Thank you so much for your help

First, you should never use that display for anything except admiring the pretty colors. It is not possible to use the information presented.

Second, those are categories not folders. Documents includes everything that is a “document” anywhere on the Mac.

If you Get Info on your startup drive look at the free space and used space.

If you need to find where large chunks are being used, try Grand Perspective.
