Why does iMovie crash when I try to import media?

Hi,

Have you tried opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. Sometimes that can cure issues like yours.

You might also try booting in Safe Mode and then rebooting in regular mode. That might clear out any conflicts that could be causing the issue.
