Screen Capture highlight won't disappear

Others have asked this Q but those answers have not helped me. When I take a screenshot (CMD/Shift/5) the screen is dulled except for a window identifying the shot. ...I hold down command and S and it saves to the clipboard.....but the Screen Capture highlight won't disappear....I have to restart my computer....but I found a fix..........1) to get rid of it just start a screen capture video and the previous one disappear. 2) to get rid of the " endless loop" then simple use you mouse to the select the copy feature on the app with you jurors.....you will hear the reassuring click....then the Command + S will suddenly start working again...no more shadow...in sum, its just a loop, and you have to figure out a way to break this loop
