Username on the Apple Community forum

Because that is the username you choose when you first signed on to the Apple Support Community. If you would like to change it, do let us know and I would be more than willing to assist you on that.

At least for the last several years, at sign-up time, an automated suggested username would be presented, with the option to change that (only at that time). Clicking Accept too fast, and you may have missed that. Not sure how it was before I signed up.

I signed up with a username I chose. Some years later I got an email from Apple notifying me that they had changed my username.
