kernal panic on updating to macOS 15.3.2

On M1 Macbook Air, when attempting to update to macOS 15.3.2, about 15% of the way through the download process, I get a kernel panic and reboot.

Tried safe boot, same thing.

Any advice?

Kernel Panics are predominately caused by hardware faults or faulty third-party kernel extensions.

Learn what to do if your computer restarts or shuts down unexpectedly, or you get a message that your computer restarted or shut down because of a problem.

If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

re: < SEP Secure Enclave Processor>

if you have panic report post in full using the Additional txt box

From the Finder>Go>Go To Folder, copy and paste:

/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

the panic file begin with “kernel” and/or ends in “Panic”

SEP stands for Secure Enclave Processor and it means you most likely have a serious hardware issue with this Mac.

Perhaps a DFU Firmware Restore can fix it since it resets the secure enclave chip, system firmware, and internal SSD as well as pushes a clean OS onto the internal SSD. It this doesn't help, then the Logic Board is most likely bad. Unfortunately at this time this process requires access to another Mac running macOS 15.x Sequoia.

Make sure to disconnect all other devices just in case one of them is causing a problem.
