I deleted a .plist file and now can’t eject disc and disc not recognized on MacBook Pro

I was trying to burn a DVD with the Burn application and it kept crashing when the burn started so when searching for a solution online, I saw someone say to delete this file - ‘com.kiwifruitware.burn.plist’

I deleted it and forgot to back it up..and now it’s not recognizing there is a blank DVD in the drive and I cannot eject it. Any ideas? Or any way to get that file back? I am using an old MacBook Pro on El Capitan Version 10.11.6

I’d start with creating complete and current backups, as backups are the only way to mark data as being valuable. Without backups, important data and precious photos can be one mistake, one drop, one ding, one loss, one corruption, one dunk, one theft away from irrevocable loss. Time Machine is good at this, and there are other fine choices.

What to do here? Reinstall thenKiwi app involved, and test again.

If you can’t shutdown normally, you can hold the power button for ~ten seconds to force a shutdown.

For assistance with the app, check with the app vendor.
