Apple Intelligence Storage

Well, my first question in 2+ decades. Running Sequoia 15.3.2 on an M3 iMac. Normally I had Apple AI disabled but decided to enable it again. What I didn't expect is the storage difference. My available storage went from 852 GBs to 768GBs. I thought I read Apple AI is supposed to use 7 GBs. Obviously 84 GBs is not the same as 7 GBs.

Any thoughts?

FWIW, I posted this thread about an issue with Sequoia 15.3.2 which no longer exists in the more recent versions. You also posted in a thread about iOS. I don't have an Apple mobile device that supports Apple AI, so you won't get much help here. Best to follow your previous thread.

Yeah, for whatever reason, the OS doesn't seem to remove the files, even when the Apple Intelligence feature is turned off.

And, judging by all the other people with similar questions on this platform (including me), I would think that this was somewhat of an oversight on Apple's part, since it seems to apply across the range of Apple devices (mac, iphone, ipad).

It's a bit of a bummer but I think all we can really do right now is bubble it up as feedback and see if they address it. Fingers crossed they fix it soon.
