Why are my Facetime screenshots in landscape mode?

Recently, whenever I take Facetime screenshots, it saves them in landscape mode and I have tried to fix it but I don't know any other way on how to fix it. I want it to be saved in portrait mode, is there any way I can fix it?

Why isn’t it just as easy to add a picture as a background in FaceTime? I use FaceTime frequently and would really enjoy being able to add a background.

I know it’s nothing major, it is just off putting.
